THE MORE I AM ALONE

I think I came from Heaven at the Earth’s summons.
I believe that my fire was lit from bright Orion.
The story of the stars are pulled from the world of dream.
I am all alone, thinking about my origins.

The more I am alone, the more clearly I see myself.
The more I am alone, the more I understand the solitude of others.
The more I am alone, the more I penetrate invisible form.
The more I am alone, the more I perceive inaudible melody.
I call upon the freedom of solitude.

A single ger, though indistinct, shows white upon the flat steppe.
A single bird, though clearly seen, circles in a cloudless sky.
A single horse comes towards me from the horizon.
And all these divine poetries are my experience.

The more I am alone, the deeper I relate to the grasses.
The more I am alone, the closer I converse with the ancestors’ spirits.
The more I am alone the more I hear the wisdom of the uncreated.
The more I am alone, the closer I am to bright Shambhala.
I am warmed by the force of solitude.
