Attended the 22nd Genoa International Poetry Festival
G.Mend-Ooyo attended the 22nd Genoa International Poetry Festival, held between the 10th to 19th of June 2016, in Genova, Italy.
On 18 June, he read his poems at the Palazzo Ducale in the centre of the city of Genova.
Damiano Abeni and Moira Egan worked on the translation of his poems into Italian.
During the 21 past editions, over 1150 authors have performed their works in Genoa: from the Nobel Prize winners Czeslaw Milosz, Derek Walcott, John Coetzee and Wole Soyinka, to other poets and artists such as Lou Reed, John Giorno, Juan Gelman, Dacia Maraini, Lawrence Ferlinghetti, Mahmoud Darwish, Adonis, Alvaro Mutis, Manuel Vasquez, Montalban, Yusuf Komunyakaa, Peter Hammill, Jack Hirschmann, Evgenij Evtushenko, Charles Simic, Diane Di Prima, Roger Mc Gough, Simon Armitage, Ray Manzarek of The Doors, Fernando Arrabal, Alejandro Jodorowsky, Edoardo Sanguineti, Stefano Benni and many others.
