“Nature of Mind and Mind of Nature” was the theme that brought us together at The Alembic in Berkeley for a day of poetry and conversation. The event centered on a poetry reading followed by audience questions and discussion. It was a meaningful opportunity to share poems and engage in thoughtful dialogue with a community of artists, readers, and meditators.

The Mongolian Arts and Education Center helped organize the event and contributed to the gathering with several stations, including mongol bichig (traditional Mongolian script), and presented a morin khuur performance. Their participation added a deeper cultural connection and acted as a springboard for deeper conversations about Mongolian culture and customs as well as Mend-Ooyo's personal experiences.

A special highlight of the day was the debut of English translations of the poems by A. Nyamdash. She joined on stage to present her translations and assisted in translating the conversation, making the discussion accessible to the English speaking audience.

The event was made possible through the hospitality and vision of Brandt Miller, whose support and guidance created the conditions for meaningful artistic exchange.
